42 hour record Mridangam performance by Shri T R Sundaresan - May 1, 2 2005

Pictures of a concert that began at 5:00 a.m. on Labour Day in the serene and quiet Sunday morning ambience of the SIFAS auditorium on Starlight Road, Singapore with a moving rendition of the geetham "Sri Gananatha" by Shri N R Prashanth, and ended more than 42 hours later with a Dhanasri tillana rendered by an ensemble of over twenty musicians from around Singapore, and mangalam at past 11:06 p.m. on Monday. And not once did his hands flag, whether accompanying the A grade artiste from India, or the teenage female SIFAS student - it was a magnificent, inspired performance by a masterful mridangist! It was a privilege for kanakasabha to witness this fabulous (and fabulously organized) event (most photos by Rama unless otherwise acknowledged below).
