Indian Performing Arts Schools in Singapore
Note that other than the schools listed below, many of the artistes listed in the performing artistes page also teach students at all levels. If you know of a registered school for the Indian performing arts (including individual teachers, or community centers) not listed here, please let us know the contact details by email to rama@kanakasabha.com. Most of the schools below offer training in Carnatic vocal music and Bharata Natyam dance, but most also offer a subset of other disciplines such as Carnatic instruments (veena, vocal, flute, nadaswaram, mridangam), Hindustani vocal and instruments (sitar, tabla, harmonium) and other dance styles such as Kathak, Kuchipudi, Mohini Attam, Kathakali and Odissi and some even offer training in Western instruments (guitar, keyboard etc.). As the specific disciplines taught in each school vary from time to time, we have not listed the disciplines taught at each school - please call or email the individual school to enquire.
