- holds a BA in Drama, and a Masters of Fine Arts specialising
in Dance, from the Queensland University of Technology
- an Associate Artist of the Substation and a core
member of Magdalena Singapore
- started her classical Indian dance training in Bharatanatyam,
training with the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society where she learnt
and performed dance for about seven years
- later, trained at Nrithyalaya Aesthetics Society
under Mrs Santha Bhaskar
- explored other forms such as Kuchipudi under Mrs
Rayasri Muralidhar, Mohini Attam under Mrs Santha Bhaskar and Kathak
under Pandit Charan Gidhar Chand
- trained in Odissi under Mrs Sahana Das
- performed contemporary dance when she went to Australia,
Brisbane in 1999 to pursue her education in the Arts; also ventured
into Flamenco under Encarna Sancho; and other western dance forms;
has learnt flamenco under the guidance of Kaz Wilson
- represented Singapore in the 6th National Culture
Festival Chiba '91 in Japan, performed in several Dance and Arts Festivals
of Singapore (organized by NAC), 'Manohra in 96', and 'Ramayana' in
97, all with Nrityalaya Aesthetics Society
- has choreographed/participated/performed in a number
of contemporary dance and theatre productions including, among others,
Nava Rasas, Dreams, Lasya/Femme, includes 'A Bride's Lament', 'Om
Shaantih'in SIngapore and Australia
- is always looking for Indian and Comtemporary Dance
